PRO BONO MULTIDISCIPLINARY DESIGN CONSULTATION SERVICE

Designed for Good (DEFG) is a social impact design practice that brings together multidisciplinary creatives across brand, strategy, advertising, service, product, spatial, digital, social and AI. Their volunteer team draws experience from global brands, leading agencies, education and social impact organisations. Built around the realities of the social sector, DEFG develops bespoke frameworks, tools and methodologies that help groundups strengthen capabilities, communicate impact and design better experiences for the communities they serve.

Service offered:

Pro Bono 60-minuted Design Consultation

Rather than simply designing for groundups, the session is designed to help teams build the capability to design, prototype and improve their own work, using accessible design methods and AI-enabled tools. Groundups can sign up for one of the following areas:

A. Branding & Communication Design

  • Using Design Axis and Organisational Archetypes

  • Develop a clearer and more coherent identity, including naming, positioning, logos, visual assets, brand kits, messaging and content strategy.

B. Websites & Web Apps

  • Using Vibe Coding, UI Heuristics and Story UX

  • Learn how to use prompt engineering, AI and no-/low-code tools to prototype more effective social impact websites, digital experiences and lightweight web applications.

C. Experience & Service Design

  • Using 5E Experience Design and Human-Centred Design principles

  • Map and improve the end-to-end experiences of beneficiaries, volunteers and other stakeholders, identifying opportunities to make services more accessible, empowering and effective.

The above consultation comes with an optional 20-minute follow up session with DEFG fellows. This session serves to review progress, troubleshoot, implementation and identify practical next steps.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the session, participating groundups should:

  • have access to relevant AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Manus, etc.) and/or design tools (e.g. Adobe, Affinity, Canva, etc.).

  • create and maintain a shared working document between the groundup and DEFG containing relevant organisational information, consultation notes, decisions and next steps.

  • be prepared to actively implement or prototype recommendations arising from the consultation.

  • commit to tracking relevant outcomes and sharing impact data or feedback with DEFG to help DEFG understand and improve the effectiveness of the programme.

Terms and conditions:

  • Each groundup may receive one pro bono consultation session only.

  • Sessions will be conducted online and are subject to the availability of DEFG consultants.

  • Where appropriate, DEFG Fellows or members may follow up by email or through the optional 20-minute session to check on implementation and development.

  • Ground-ups that apply DEFG’s frameworks and processes may request permission to use the “This Groundup is Designed for Good” badge on relevant materials, including websites, presentations and event collateral. DEFG may feature outcomes on panels, and other DEFG materials.

  • Consultation slots are limited and participation is subject to availability and programme fit.

  • As these sessions are offered on a pro bono basis, allocation will be determined at the discretion of BAGUS Together and DEFG.
